My first crush with the STAGE

All my batch mates forced me to write an article and post it. But lazy by nature, I just kept nodding my head and showed no interest. But then my room-mate literally requested me and I could not resist. I thought of reviving my old school memories and chose the topic on which I delivered the first speech of my life in the morning assembly. It was:

YESTERDAY WAS A CANCELLED CHEQUE, TOMORROW IS A PROMISSORY NOTE, TODAY IS THE ONLY CASH YOU HAVE. SPEND IT WISELY!!!

I still remember; it was in July 2005. The time, 7:45 A.M. It was my turn to deliver the speech on the stage. The rate at which my heart was beating got doubled and my body was shaking like an 18th century bridge disturbed by floods. My first words on the mike were obviously: GOOD MORNING TO ALL. After a brief introduction, my speech went like this:

Beet gaya jo beet gaya, kya rakha tha kal ki shaam mein,
Dekha hai kisne aane wala kal, kyo’n pareshaa’n hai uski chah mein,
Zindagi kay pal toh aaj hain abhi hain,
Loot le mazaa, par thode aaram sey!

The one second of your life that just passed away will never return back. Why then waste time pondering over the deeds which we did in the past time. Yes, it’s true that one’s past decides his/her future but the Present has an upper hand over the Past. Even if you have committed any mistakes in your past, you have only your Present to overcome them and march ahead for your Future.

Rather, I’d say, The cash has been spent, now the promissory note is awaited…it’s you who can turn it into cash. It is as simple as planning for the future profit in your present because of the loss suffered in the past.

Now let’s throw some light upon the phrase SPEND IT WISELY. It’s the common human nature of most of us that we spend our money miserly so that we may save some for the future. Same goes with the life where the money is your time. Value your time as you value money, and try to take sensible and judicious decisions.

Our PRESENT is only our valid currency i.e. only TODAY is ours and if we procrastinate or fool around, we suffer a loss which will keep pinching us in the future. In the end, I would pen down by a message: NEVER GET TOO MUCH INVOLVED WITH YOUR PAST, NOR BE MUCH FANTASIZED BY YOUR FUTURE. LIVE YOUR PRESENT DAY AND REMEMBER THESE FAMOUS LINES:

“Some day” isn’t on the calendar.
“Next week” is the 32nd of the month.
“Tomorrow” is a promissory note without a date. Opportunity won’t accept it.

Well, that was all I could recollect from the speech but one thing I still remember is the sound of applause and words of praise from my Class Teacher after the speech …

After delivering the speech I took a huge sigh of relief as if I had returned conquering the Mount Everest…

Nevertheless, again a sigh of relief as I finish my first writing here in SPSU…

Aa’nsuo’n Kay Rang

Kaisa hota agar aa’nsuo’n kay bhi rang hote…
Kayi ra’ngo’n kay aa’nsu’n, jo keh paate unke hone ka karan…
Kitna aasaan ho jata sabko samjhana…
Khushi kay aa’nsu’n gulabi, toh gham kay neele…
Pyaar kay aa’nsu’n laal aur narazgi kay kaale…
Sab ankahi baatei’n rang keh jaate…
Samjha jaate woh bhaav jo bataye nahi jaate… Samjhaaye nahi jaate jab shabd nahi milte…
Kuch kaha nahi jaata aur nikal aate hain yeh aa’nsu’n…
Toh kyo’n nahi bataya jaate ra’ngo’n se hi jo kaha nahi ja raha…
Itne rang shayad thay nahi uske paas jo itni saari gehri-naazuk bhaavnao’n ko jhalka paate…

Kahi’n na kahi’n lagta hai sab sahi hi banaya hai usne…
Sahi jagaho’n par rang bhara hai, berang cchod diya inn aa’nsuo’n ko…

Pehchan banana chahta hai par ek mukhauta pehne rakhta hai…

Isliye berang reh gaye ye aa’nsu’n…

Accha hi hua ki aa’nsu’n kay rang nahi hai…

Parting Distances

With how much fun the traditional festivals can be celebrated that can’t be understood better than by a townsfolk. Huge gatherings!
Not even an inch to stand, excitement in girls for wearing new clothes, markets glittering like a bridegroom, waiting for the light and sound show, ears choked because of the beats of drums. Eating pani-patashe, kulfi, bhelpuri etc. on that particular day when no thela-wala has enough time to serve you between too much rush and pride strikes you if by luck your turn comes.
I miss those moments and will be missing them every year by heart. Why not these dates come on Sundays to give pleasure to all. Why did God create such freak people who never give a day off even on the birthday of their Creator!

Feeling sorry for the Creator of this universe…

The Gardener

Dedicated to the ones who played and are still playing the role of an admirer in my life, my teachers . . .

The person who guides us to the correct path is a teacher. They are parents at home, teachers at school/college and in our various routine activities too. Even our younger ones now-a-days are experts in the teaching job.

The stationery which is very well-known to us now, would have remained lifeless if a teacher hadn’t taught us the method of breathing life into it. When and how my pencils turned into pens, copies to registers and small answers turned into big notes! I now have firsthand experience of the guidance of some great teachers, in my life.

It’s not only limited to my stationery! They have tried and are continuously trying very hard to get us to the top and are helping us learn every aspect of our lives.

Lucky are the ones — including me — who are able to attain education in this ‘Democracy’ especially the ones being taught by those few teachers who have spent their entire lives in nurturing, ‘what in actual is called a life’, of their students . . .

Outspoken Positivity#05

Save your head from getting trashed into pieces. Refuse to be a garbage tin for anything that does not add to your intelligence, encourage your vision or makes you a more sympathetic and calm individual.

Don’t open up your mind to other people’s rubbish. Stop paying attention to anything that gives a boost to conflict or dispute. This can contaminate your mind with the virus of distrust or defeat and you won’t even know it!

Be considerate about fixing up your day to win. Whatever you nourish your mind with, in the first twenty minutes of the day, will affect the spirit of your entire day. Keep yourself calm and composed with positive words that refuel your energy and lighten up your spirit every time they get low. Your ideas and thoughts originate your truth.  Make your life extraordinary!

And forget not, you have GREATNESS within you!

Khamoshiyaa’n

Life’s Journey

The earth is white and blue,
with red sun rays shining
on hay and you…
bird flies towards its nest,
and the sun smiles with red flesh,
so everyone remembers it till it shines,
and the river sings a sweet little song,
to bade sun good night…
the moon at the back, waits,
for the sun to go and,
let it come with its family and glow,
to make a lazy and pleasant night…
the flowers asleep and wait for the sun,
and there the moon laughs on this life,
while the river says ‘I will not wait,
for one to come and go’…
when the sun rises after a long break,
with the yawning smile and,
the moon goes to rest for a short day,
flowers and birds wake up,
with the morning energetic light,
with a thought to do some,
hose-posh in this life…
and the days go on and on,
with the same sun and moon light…

Reminiscing

It’s 2.30am in the morning and still no sign of sleep in my eyes. Well, that is not a big deal for a Management Student, like me. It is now a very common thing for me. But, this night is a bit different for me — I don’t know why — compared to the others. I was as usual doing the same regular “stuffs” that I do always of which a major part is wasting time, but suddenly I was taken back to my yesteryears by my consciousness and all those memories of school, home, friends, family and first year in college was refreshed.

So, then as a mature person I tried to retrospect myself to find that what kind of friend, classmate, sister, student and “a person” have I been, all these years. And I drew a conclusion that I can’t exactly say what kind of person I have been for other people who have been part of my life (good, bad, generous, selfish and what more!). But I am writing this down not because I love writing or I like to pen down my emotions, but I am writing this just to let all my school buddies to know that you still are very much a part of my life and what I am and to let know all those people I once hated and could not stand that guys I still hate you and curse you from core of my heart and believe me you all deserve that.

Many people will find the above lines weird or nonsensical, but this is what I am! Loads of people suggested as to why hold the same ill feelings for all those who did something wrong with you at some point of time? I ask them why not? For me they were b******s, they are and will be for what they did to me.

Anyways, thinking of memories I came to realize that how fast the time has passed by. It seems that it is just a matter of some time back when I joined this college and now am approaching the end of my 2nd year and then in no time the year 2014 would arrive and in summer of that if everything goes well I would get a job *Fingers crossed*.

Wow! There is not a lot of time left. But now when I look back at these two years of my college there is nothing but a smile that comes on my face. Not because it went the way I thought or I wanted or planned it to be, but because it has been full of surprises and unexpected things.

Someone said to me that college life brings out the real person in you out. I don’t know whether that has happened with me or not but one thing for sure is that, I have really grown a lot in these two years (technically one and a half!).

I still remember my first day at college mesmerized by the lavish infrastructure and campus but in these years how things have changed I know! The best part is that it has been kind of surprising, because when I thought of doing something during my school days, I ended up doing something that I never thought of and till now I don’t regret any of those. Another thing is that I made some really good friends, which I am sure shall remain for the rest of my life.

So, till now it has been like a roller coaster ride, a life full of highs and lows and I’m enjoying every bit of it and yes still figuring out myself at every stage . . . I think you all should too! 🙂

Drooling a Paulo Coelho Positivity

Lions don’t have to roar. There is power in silence, confidence and persistence. Those who work don’t talk and those who talk don’t work. Handle your business. Measure your efforts by results. Focus your time, energy and activity on mastering and executing a plan. Avoid the energy draining practices of telling people what you’re going to do. Instead, spend your time and effort in doing the things that are necessary to accomplish your goals. Keep your focus and stay determined in order to pursue your dream. Let your work, not your words, speak for itself. For, you have something special…you have greatness within you!!

Ghirna

Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Ghirkar uthna aur uthkar chalna bhi seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Log kehte hain kay ek buri paristithi sabkuch seekha deti hai. . .
Lekin maine paristithiyo’n ko badalna seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Lekin in kacche rasto’n par ghirne mein alag hi maza hai
Maine is maze ko mehsoos karna seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Maanaa uske naa kehne sey dil tut gayaa mera
Uske baad pyar kay upar sey vishwas chuth gaya mera
Lekin maine is tut hue dil sey bhi pyar karna seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Iraadaa kya yeh toh unka khwaab a’dhaa hai
Haarey binaa jeetney ka mazaa bhi pheeka hai
Haan maine suraj ki tarah dhalna bhi seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Dariya mein jaega nahi toh moti kaise payega?
Sau baar haaregaa lekin ek baar jeet jayega!
Maanaa us haar ka swaad teekha hai
Haan maine us haar sey bhi seekhlena seekha hai!
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Jab ma’umbatti ruk rukkar jalti hai
Yeh jalan usey zindagi bhar khalti hai
Us batti ka taap maum ki akad ko pighla deta hai
Aur woh maum pighalkar sari kaiinaat ko jagmagaa deta hai
Maanaa ki batti ka maum pighlanewala andaaz meetha hai
Lekin maine batti ki tarah jalkar logo’n ko pighlana bhi seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Kya maine zindagi sey seekha hai?
Ya phir zindagi ney mujhe sikhaya hai?
Lagta hai zindagi ney mujhe apna har roop dikhaya hai
Lekin maine zaalim zindagi mein jina seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Ghirkar uthna aur uthkar chalna bhi seekha hai
Haan maine ghirna seekha hai . . .

Haan maine ghirna seekha hai. . .

Words are stronger than actions!

Today I write a piece—words are stronger than actions—which is contradictory to what most you have heard that, actions speaks louder than words.

In my perspective, both the above ideas, when thought of keeping ourselves in place of Gandhi, are acceptable under certain conditions. Gandhi’s ideas of non-violence and truth sometimes emphasized actions and other times, words.
Wars have not benefited humanity in any way. Words make us laugh, cry and feel emotions and even realize guilt. When a matter can be resolved using words, then why to fight and increase the problem?

I am feeling proud that our university students are friendly and I hope that my pride will never fall. If each of our friends possesses a fraction of the many qualities of Gandhi then all of us together can constitute a complete Gandhi—who had ability to change the whole world.

After completion of our Bachelors Degree, wherever we shall go, we shall spread love among everybody and will build a stronger and a helpful atmosphere around us.

If until now you could not sync with my thoughts and feel that, I am wrong, then care to explain how the words of the dramas of Shakespeare are alive till today and why did you shed tears on watching the movie Baghban, where there wasn’t even any action. But there were feelings. Feelings hidden in words. . .

Words are the stepping-stones of literature, use them to give respect. They have laid the moral values of human civilization.

The best writer or speaker is the one who makes people think in his or her own way and creates the image of a situation in others’ mind. Just try to become a speaker whom everyone wants to listen to.

Words are golden; use them as jewels, not as a life destroying metallic-cold knife.

CONFUSING CONFUSION!

Enormous songs and ballads,
A lot of poems and sonnets
Are written on knights and kings,
Of their braveries and flying wings,
In their palaces and rings.

Should I write about brave rats?
Who live their lives with fear of cats,
They search for bread and grains,
With immense concentration and brains,
While passing through kitchens and dirty drains.

Or should I write about the home of my dreams?
Which can be
made it seems,
A foamy spring-flowering past,
And a fruit orchard with mangoes blast,
With a scenery of greenery spread a vast.

Thinking of a subject for a poem to write
I wrote a poem itself,  all right!
